Northern Pediatrics, a physician practice affiliated with Northern Hospital of Surry County, has broken ground on a new 10,700-square-foot medical office building in the North Pointe development off N.C. 52 at the intersection of Galax Trail and North Pointe Boulevard in Mount Airy.
The facility will include 18 exam rooms, four private treatment rooms, seven physician offices and other facilities. The building will initially house Northern Pediatrics’ five board-certified pediatricians — doctors Mae A. Daniels, Melinda S. Darling-Williams, Lori E. McClanahan, Andrew L. Robertson and James W. Robertson — but the facility is designed to allow future expansion that could accommodate three more doctors.
The design utilizes a variety of natural materials and a features a soothing aquatic theme that starts in the Waiting Areas and is carried throughout the clinical spaces. A separate, enclosed Teen Waiting Room is provided off each of the main Sick and Well Waiting areas to accommodate the “older” patients.
The building is to be completed in early 2008.
Northern Pediatrics’ current address is Suite 101, 423 S. South St., Mount Airy. The telephone number is (336) 789-6267.
